Who?

Kidkapone is a Beatmaker & DJ from Braunschweig, Germany who started DJing at the age of fifteen with only one shitty Reloop-Turntable and a wack ass Numark Mixer, bought with money from delivering TV papers. His parents weren´t too amused about his first attempts at walking as a scratch musician. A few years and stacks of destroyed Vinyls later, he discovered the unique sound of legendary J Dilla, who inspired him to make his own beats. Starting out with a cracked version of FL Studio, he later collaborated with some local rappers he eventually became friends with. In 2007 he teamed up with fellow producer Chewo Beats who shares the same passion for chopping up sweet 70s soul samples, playing heavy driven Moog Synths and creating hard ass Drum-Pattern. One year and some existential crises about they’re Snare choices later, they put out an instrumental Album called “3 days in Saigon” which was recorded through an old Tape-Machine before burnt to CD. The following years he worked with many German, but also overseas Artists and produced some Jingles for Commercial-Spots as well as a shitload of beats for the homie „Macintosh HD“. After a first successful self-organized party with special guests “Betty Ford Boys” he established the event series “it’s all good!” with his good friend and partner – DJ Fourteen, with which he also shut down countless local Rap and Funk club gigs as well as some slots on one of Europe’s biggest festivals, the Hiphop Kemp in Czech Republic.

Nowadays he is primarily focusing on improving his beat production skills, sharing some timeless classics with the world, but also looking forward to collaborate with other talented artist. Describing his sound you can put him somewhere between Future-Boombap and experimental HipHop, but always with his very own signature.

Holla at your boy!
